[As part of] A vindication of the state of Rhode-Island and
Providence Plantation, for not having granted the five per
cent duties, recommended by Congress, February 3, 1781. . .
  It seems difficult to determine what is right, with regard
to the first class, viz. the ghost of continental money,
which yet hovers about us, and which, at the witty and
ingenious author of McFingal, a poem lately published,
observes,
  Was strangely vers'd in magic lore,
  And gifted with transforming pow'r;
  --Restor'd the fab'lous times to view,
  And prov'd the tale of Midas true;
  . . . [8 more lines]  Canto 4.
